DRAFT UPDATE: SEATTLE SEAHAWKS SELECT COURTNEY GREENE

Greene_medium

Courtney Greene is a Seattle Seahawk

I was starting to get a little worried about Courtney Greene's chances of being selected in this year's draft, but worry no more Rutgers fans.

Greene was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the seventh round, #245 overall.  He will join former teammate Mike Teel in Seattle.

Here's what ESPN thinks of Greene:

Greene is a tough, in-the-box safety. He flashes ability to deliver a big hit on occasion. However, he is inconsistent tackling in the open field and his ability on the back end is suspect.

I agree that Greene does look to deliver the hammer on opposing receivers, but I disagree when they say he is an inconsistent tackler.  At the beginning of last year, with the defense struggling, I remember quite a few times when he made touchdown saving tackles in the open field.  Hopefully when he gets to Seattle he'll show the 'Hawks what the RU defense was all about.
