Preseason Favorite

Well, even with all the questions surrounding Rutgers offense heading into 2009, the Scarlet Knights are still getting some respect.

Phil Steele, author of Phil Steele's College Football Preview (the one with every possible fact that you could ever want), has tabbed the Scarlet Knight as the #16 ranked team for the 2009 season.  Even better, he sees the Scarlet Knights as the Big East champs.

Steele also named Anthony Davis to the Pre-Season All-American 3rd team, and named Rutgers offensive line as the 8th best in the nation.

The magazine will hit newsstands on June 9th.

#16 seems a little bit high for me, but I do think that Rutgers is one of the favorites to win the conference.  The opening game on Labor Day against Cincy will go a long towards deciding the Big East Champ in my opinion.
