Philadelphia 76ers Choose Eddie Jordan as New Coach
The new coach of the Philadelphia 76ers...
In a follow-up to a story that we did here, former Rutgers player Eddie Jordan has been named the new head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers, according to ESPN.com:
NBA coaching sources told ESPN.com on Friday night that Jordan and the Sixers have reached an agreement on a multi-year deal to reunite the former Washington Wizards coach with Sixers president Ed Stefanski after Jordan and Stefanski worked together in New Jersey.
Jordan was the first to interview for the Philly job -- which came open May 11 when Tony DiLeo returned to his front-office post after taking over for Maurice Cheeks in December and guiding the Sixers to the No. 6 seed in the East -- and the only other candidate interviewed twice by Stefanski besides Dallas Mavericks assistant coach Dwane Casey.
Jordan inherits a team that reached the Eastern Conference playoffs this season after a 41-41 regular season record. The 76ers lost in the 1st round to the Orlando Magic, 4 games to 2.
A press conference is expected Monday to announce Jordan's hiring.
Congratulations to Eddie!

Good For Eddie
Great day for Rutgers, but it would be cool to read an exclusive interview with Eddie. Someone needs to make that happen.
