Brian Leonard Traded to Bengals
Leonard has been traded to the Bungles...
NFL.com is reporting that former Rutgers star RB/FB Brian Leonard has been traded from the St. Louis Rams to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Rams will receive DT Orien Harris in the two team trade.
Leonard was drafted in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Rams, and had a productive first season with St. Louis, including a 100 yard rushing day against Arizona. Since then though, Leonard has dealt with injuries and sat out most of the 2008-2009 season with a bad shoulder. Here are Leonard's career stats:

Leonard joins a Bengals team that finished last season at 4-11-1. The Bengals run game was underwhelming last year, with their leading rusher Cedric Benson totaling a mere 747 yards. Here are the Bengals top 3 rushers from last season:
| Rushing Statistics | |||||||
| NAME | ATT | YDS | AVG | LNG | TD | FUM | LST |
| Cedric Benson | 214 | 747 | 3.5 | 46 | 2 | 2 | 1 |
| Ryan Fitzpatrick | 60 | 304 | 5.1 | 22 | 2 | 3 | 1 |
| Chris Perry | 104 | 269 | 2.6 | 25 | 2 | 5 | 3 |
ESPN's Mike Sando says that once Scott Linehan was fired as Rams head coach, they no longer focused on Leonard as a primary weapon. Hopefully a clean bill of health and a clean slate will be just what Leonard needs in Cincinnati. And hopefully he'll be the character guy that the Bungles need.
Either way, he'll always be a Rutgers legend.

Upside
At least now he may get some screen time on Hard Knocks.
That said, and it pains me to say it, but I think Leonard needs to prove himself in the next two years — otherwise his career may be over shortly.

Quick correction
It’s spelled “Brian,” unless Brain Leonard is a nickname I am not aware of.

my favorite kinght of all time glad to see he’ll actually have a shot at plying time i feel he was unfairly treated in st. louis when they tried to turn him into a HB when he is really a FB it didint make much sense with steven jackson on the team. hes still got the most heart out of any guy in the NFL
