Rutgers Lands Safety Lorenzo Waters

Rutgers fans should hope that Waters has a bit of his cousin, Lefeged in him....

Greg Schiano and Rutgers have added another player to the Scarlet Knight family.  Literally.  Safety Lorenzo Waters, from Dematha High School in Maryland, has given the Scarlet Knights their 16th commitment for next years recruiting class.

Waters chose Rutgers over Wake Forest and California, and a big reason for that might be that his cousin, Joe Lefeged is currenty a standout safety for the Scarlet Knights.  And he seems to play the same type of game as his cousin:  tough and physical.

"They needed a safety in this class,," said Brian Dohn of ScarletReport.com. "He's a hitter. He can cover, but he's a physical player. He's a really good get for them."

Waters is seen as a 3 star recruit by Rivals and Scout, and fills a big need for the Scarlet Knights, especially with the departure of Zaire Kitchen and Devin McCourty from the secondary.

The national signing period begins on February 3rd, where recruits can officially commit to the school of their choice.
